The showdown between the Harvard Crimson and Yale Bulldogs this weekend earned a visit from College Gameday, and one fan’s sign issued a challenge to the Alabama Crimson Tide and the college football season winds down.
Harvard is calling its shot. They want to face the Alabama Crimson Tide. A sign announced as much on ESPN’s College Gameday.

If you want to stake your claim as the best, then you have to beat the best. You have to unseat the champions, the school known as the juggernauts of the sport. The only way for that to happen is for the two teams to square off against one another.
So, what you do think, Alabama? Do you want your shot at Harvard?
You have been challenged.
Generally speaking, I will say that the advantage lies squarely with the Ivy League kids in this one. That said, would any of you be surprised if Nick Saban was great at chess?
I know I wouldn’t have to work too hard to convince Alabama fans that he is a chess master. In no time, there would be a robust discussion in an internet forum about how Saban is the best chess player of any coach in the nation.
Still, we will give the edge to the Crimson in this hypothetical chess showdown. That’s for later. For now, Harvard will focus on trying to win the Ivy League title against Yale.
