That makes four straight losses for the Cavaliers, who are just 5-7 after signing LeBron James as a free agent and trading for All-Star Kevin Love in the offseason.
So the team is adjusting to a total of seven new players, as well as a new coach in David Blatt.
James’ frustration boiled over a little bit at his teammates about their offensive execution in the third quarter:
The translation: “You gotta cut!” The last word may or may not have been a reference to a large vehicle used to transport cargo.
The Cavaliers were anointed by most as a championship favorite after the acquisitions, because we all apparently forgot how rocky a start the Miami Heat had in 2010 after James and Chris Bosh signed up to join Dwyane Wade to win not one, not two … well, yeah, just two … championships.
Cleveland has talent, but also has flaws—such as the need for a big man to provide some interior defense, particularly if Kyrie Irving is going to play defense on the perimeter while his man is at the rim.
