The term “fat guy touchdown” has been a popular search term in recent years when a defensive lineman gets his hands on the ball and gets an interception or recovers a fumble and gets to rumble with the pigskin in his big mitts, and offensive lineman have been getting in on the fun this year too.
Arkansas used a 350-pound offensive lineman threw a touchdown pass on a fake play earlier this year and it became a viral sensation. Apparently, Michigan State wanted to get one of their “fat guys” involved in the run game today against Rutgers because 6-5, 325 pound offensive guard Connor Kruse ran an end around and even gained positive yardage.
The rush attempt gained one yard, likely the only yard Kruse will get in his football playing career, but it came in a win as the Spartans cruised to an easy win against the Scarlet Knights.
