Missouri QB Maty Mauk Gets A Snap In The Face (Video)
By Phil Watson
The center-quarterback exchange is one of the basic elements of football, but when they go wrong—as it did for Missouri’s Maty Mauk—the result can be hilarious.
So there he was, calling out signals and directing the Missouri Tigers offense, when quarterback Maty Mauk got a surprise.
A football in the face.
Junior center Evan Boehm was apparently tired of waiting for Mauk to do his dance in the backfield and fired the snap back to his quarterback, whose head was turned.
Mauk looked back toward the line of scrimmage and—bang!—football to the grill.
Mauk did recover the errant snap for a 7-yard loss. The Tigers (8-2) are trying to move to 6-1 in the SEC and get themselves in position to clinch the SEC East title next week with a win over Arkansas.

But Tennessee (5-5) is attempting to become bowl eligible for the first time since 2010 and the teams are locked in a tight battle, with Missouri clinging to a 16-13 lead late in the third quarter.
If Tennessee comes back to win, Georgia would clinch the SEC East title and advance to the conference championship game in Atlanta on Dec. 6 against either Alabama or Mississippi State, whichever team comes out of the West.
Alabama can clinch the bid with a win next Saturday over Auburn in the Iron Bowl.
