J.T. Barrett has made big strides in the Heisman race in recent weeks and had an opportunity to pad his stats against a three-win Indiana, but that wasn’t the case as the Hoosiers made life difficult for the redshirt freshman quarterback. Barrett tosses a pair of interceptions and couldn’t pull away from the Hoosiers until Jalin Marshall returned a punt 54 yards at the end of the third quarter to give Ohio State a 21-20 lead.
Marshall wasn’t done there as he scored on a six-yard touchdown reception in the beginning of the fourth quarter to extend the lead to eight and give the Buckeyes some much-needed breathing room.
Marshall became the first Ohio State player with a put return for a touchdown and a touchdown reception since Brian Hartline against Kent State in 2007.
