Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Braydon Coburn keeps running into goalie Steve Mason

Okay, it happens.

Sometimes, you go flying into the net when you’re trying to be a really great defenseman. At one point last night, I think half the Arizona Coyotes roster flopped into the net behind goalie Devan Dubnyk to stop a particularly lethal shot by Patrick Marleau.

The point is, it happens. We get it, Braydon. Sometimes, you accidentally collide with the man charged with keeping your team from losing.

But… twice?

The first time blue liner Braydon Coburn smacked into netminder Steve Mason was on Wednesday, when the Flyers got shut out 2-0 by their divisional rivals, the New York Rangers.

Here, but really — check this out:

BRAYDON HE’S ON YOUR TEAM.

Coburn officially became a repeat offender on Saturday night against the Columbus Blue Jackets, though, when he made a pretty egregious error, turned over the puck, then raced back to ‘save the day’… and rushed Mason once again.

I know that apparently Chris Krieder has made rushing goalies, like, a ‘thing’ in the NHL lately… but one, don’t do that (cause it hurts, and it’s kind of super dangerous and stuff), and two… don’t do it to YOUR OWN MAN.

The only possible explanation I can think of for this is Braydon Coburn secretly having it out for Mason or someone in the front office so badly that he’s willing to sink the ship he’s working on, just to kill the captain.  That’s really all I’ve got.
