Matt Forte Gives Chicago Bears Lead Over Tampa Bay Lovies (Video)
By Phil Watson
Lovie Smith’s homecoming at Soldier Field got off to a good start, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers taking a 10-0 lead, but Matt Forte has brought the Chicago Bears back.
Lovie Smith coached the Chicago Bears for nine years and returned for the first time Sunday with his new team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Things started well for the 2-8 Bucs, who led on a chilly, rainy day at halftime, 10-0.
But the Bears, who just got their first home win last week, began to get back in the game in the second half and it was Matt Forte—who else—who got them back into the lead.
Chicago’s defense set up the score, with David Bass sacking and stripping the ball from Tampa Bay quarterback Josh McCown—also returning to Soldier Field after three seasons backing up Jay Cutler. Christian Jones pounced on the loose football to give the Bears the ball at the Tampa Bay 13.
Forte then did this:
It was his fourth rushing touchdown of the year and seventh overall and the 54th overall of his career. He is fifth on the Bears’ all-time touchdown list behind Hall of Famer Walter Payton (125), Neal Anderson (71), Rick Casares (59) and Gale Sayers (56).
Smith was 81-63 with the Bears and took them to the Super Bowl following the 2006 season with Rex Grossman as his starting quarterback—something that should have earned him Coach of the Forever honors.
