By Evan Massey
The Green Bay Packers improved to 8-3 with a 24-21 victory over the Minnesota Vikings in the latest installment in one of the NFL’s most bitter rivalries.
The NFC North standings have changed this week, as the Green Bay Packers were able to take the lead over the Detroit Lions with a 24-21 victory on the road against the Minnesota Vikings. It wasn’t the prettiest win or the win that many were expecting to see, but Aaron Rodgers and company were able to get the job done and take home a big win.

Green Bay improved to 8-3 on the season with the win, and the Lions’ loss to the New England Patriots dropped them to 7-4 on the year.
Needless to say, the Packers will take this win despite the fact that it shouldn’t have been as close as it was. They made some mistakes and the defense allowed the Vikings to run all over them from time to time, but they got the job done at the end of the game. Green Bay has now won seven of their last eight games.
Rodgers threw for 209 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions on the afternoon while recording a quarterback rating of 109.7. Those numbers now give him 30 touchdowns and just three interceptions on the season to this point. Teddy Bridgewater didn’t play too bad of a game himself, throwing for 210 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception on the afternoon.
Eddie Lacy has recorded two 100-yard performances on the season for the Packers, and both of them have come against the Vikings. He carried the football 25 times for 125 times and one touchdown. Jerick McKinnon picked up 54 yards on 15 carries to lead Minnesota in rushing.
Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb had solid games for the Packers once again, catching eight passes for 68 yards and four passes for 58 yards respectively. Andrew Quarless had a nice game as well with two catches for 50 yards, and both Eddie Lacy and Richard Rogers caught the touchdown passes. Charles Johnson led the Vikings in receiving with three catches for 52 yards and a touchdown.
Both teams left everything that they had on the field in the latest installment of one of the most bitter rivalries in the NFL. The Packers have been playing great football of late, and they don’t look to be slowing down anytime soon. Green Bay will face the Patriots next week at Lambeau Field, while the Vikings look ahead to their matchup with the Carolina Panthers next week.
