Massachusetts at Akron(-6.5): MISS! Frohnapfel didn’t end up playing. UMass had no chance without him.
Northern Illinois(-2.5) at Ohio: HIT! This was honestly closer than I thought it would be.
Bowling Green at Toledo(-7.5): HIT! It did stay a one score game!
Kansas State at West Virginia(-1.5): HIT! The score said that this was close, but it really wasn’t.
North Carolina at Duke(-6.5): MISS! Once again, I underestimated just how bad Duke’s defense is.
Arkansas State(-6.5) at Texas State: MISS! This was domination by the Bobcats.
UTEP at Rice(-9.5): HIT! UTEP couldn’t do much in this game.
Air Force at San Diego State(-3.5): HIT! This was way low!
San Jose State at Utah State(-11.5): HIT! The Aggie defense is one of the best outside of the power five conferences.
Kansas at Oklahoma(-25.5): MISS! I forgot to account for one thing: just how good Samaje Perine is.
South Alabama at South Carolina(-24.5): HIT! That was way too close!
Minnesota at Nebraska(-10.5): HIT! I knew that this was way too high.
Northwestern at Purdue(EVEN): HIT! I still can’t believe that this line was even. Easy money!
Rutgers at Michigan State(-22.5): HIT! The Spartans still have the Rose Bowl to play for.
Marshall(-19.5) at UAB: MISS! What an ugly, ugly game for Marshall. This is not the way to get to a New Years Six bowl.
UTSA at Western Kentucky(-9.5): HIT! I guess for under four touchdowns WKU was still a safe bet….
SMU at Central Florida(-27.5): HIT! SMU: making average teams look like the Oregon Ducks since August.
Tulsa at Houston(-20.5): MISS! Why oh why did I take another mediocre team??
Penn State(-6.5) at Illinois: MISS! What a lousy game for the Penn State offense.
Indiana at Ohio State(-34.5): HIT! This game was a lot closer than the final score indicates. The Buckeyes poured in on late.
Virginia Tech(-14.5) at Wake Forest: MISS! Just how bad was this game? It was scoreless at the end of regulation!
Louisiana Tech(-11.5) at Old Dominion: MISS! The Monarch D stepped up in this one.
Western Michigan at Central Michigan(EVEN): MISS! I knew better….
Washington State at Arizona State(-16.5): HIT! The Sun Devils actually trailed at halftime.
New Mexico at Colorado State(-21.5): HIT! They got the style points in this one.
Appalachian State at Louisiana-Lafayette(-9.5): HIT! Thanks for not going belly-up, App State!
Eastern Michigan at Ball State(-16.5): HIT! I was sweating this one!
Arizona at Utah(-4.5): MISS! Arizona has had some games where they look unbeatable. This was one of them.
Mississippi(-3.5) at Arkansas: MISS! Welcome back to prominence, Arkansas. We’ve missed you!
Louisville at Notre Dame(-3.5): HIT! The Irish showed some heart coming back.
Boston College at Florida State(-17.5): HIT! Another team plays too conservative and lets the Seminoles steal yet another one.
Georgia State at Clemson(-40.5): HIT! The Clemson offense isn’t that good.
Wisconsin(-10.5) at Iowa: MISS! Thanks Badgers for letting Iowa back in this! Wow….
Maryland at Michigan(-4.5): HIT! This is likely it for Brady Hoke.
Texas Tech at Iowa State(-1.5): MISS! I forgot how bad the Cyclones can be, I guess.
Florida International at North Texas(-2.5): HIT! The Mean Green made me sweat this one.
Tulane at East Carolina(-19.5): HIT! The Pirates got back on track. For one game, at least.
Syracuse at Pittsburgh(-7.5): MISS! The Syracuse D got trampled in this one.
South Florida at Memphis(-19.5): MISS! Well, I guess they were bound to hit a speed bump sometime.
Stanford(-5.5) at California: HIT! The Stanford D did its job.
Louisiana-Monroe(-7.5): at New Mexico State: MISS! Ugh.
Colorado at Oregon(-32.5): HIT! This was closer than I thought it would be.
Miami(FL)(-5.5) at Virginia: MISS! This was the same Miami team that we saw in September. That is NOT a good thing…
Florida Atlantic at Middle Tennessee State(-6.5): MISS! The Owls have shown flashes of being a good team this year.
Oklahoma State at Baylor(-30.5): MISS! Again, I underestimated just how bad the Baylor defense can be.
Missouri at Tennessee(-3.5): MISS! Where did that Missouri offense come from?
Vanderbilt at Mississippi State(-30.5): HIT! This is how you impress a committee. Ohio State and Baylor did not.
USC at UCLA(-3.5): MISS! The Trojans were embarrassed in this one.
Cincinnati(-9.5) at Connecticut: HIT! More easy money.
Boise State(-12.5) at Wyoming: HIT! I honestly expected Wyoming to stick around, but they were blown off their own field in the second half.
Fresno State at Nevada(-7.5): MISS! That was the best that the Fresno D has looked all season.
Oregon State at Washington(-6.5): MISS! The Beavers are only tough in Corvallis.
UNLV at Hawaii(-10.5): MISS! How do you pitch a shutout on the mainland, then nearly lose to a poor UNLV team at home??
I kept my head above water at 28-25 this week, but am still at a poor 299-345 on the season. Time is running out for me to make up ground, and this week is filled with rivalry games. I’m afraid I may be destined to finish under .500 for the first time in three years.
