Los Angeles Kings could be fielding calls from the Eastern Conference about Jordan Nolan

Jordan Nolan is one of those polarizing hockey players that you either hate or don’t really know much about.

For Arizona Coyotes fans, he’s the guy who ended Rusty Klesla’s career during the 2013 pre-season. The Detroit Red Wings aren’t big fans of him, either — he’s already been suspended this season for a nasty boarding against Wings forward Darren Helm (which, for those who don’t remember, upset pretty much every single Detroit player on the ice). The Edmonton Oilers remember when he sucker-punched Jesse Joensuu, and the Vancouver Canucks don’t particularly like skaters who cross-check Henrik Sedin’s head.

The Eastern Conference may just have a team willing to pick him up, though. According to NBC’s Pro Hockey Talk, Kings general manager Dean Lombardi has reportedly been fielding calls about the forward.

They claim they’re in no rush to make a move, despite the weeks they spent demanding cap relief for suspended defenseman Slava Voynov — but if one of the teams interested in Nolan is offering up a defenseman, the Kings have suggested they’d be willing to make the trade.

With Nolan missing two games for suspension and being a healthy scratch in five more this season, one has to wonder exactly which teams are trying to take him in. It’s worth noting, though, that his father is Ted Nolan — and the Buffalo Sabres could always have a blue liner to spare.
