The Washington Redskins are looking at another lost season, which means that patience is again running out with Robert Griffin III, who has been benched again.
Earlier this season, Robert Griffin III was replaced in the starting lineup due to injury but this time around he’s being replaced because he’s massively underperforming. After returning from injury, Griffin III hasn’t been able to overcome his past flaws and Washington is no better off with him than they were with Colt McCoy.

That’s exactly the situation that Washington is in for the second time this season as Jay Gruden has benched RGIII in favor of McCoy.
According to Adam Schefter from ESPN, the Redskins are planning starting Colt McCoy over Robert Griffin III on Sunday against the Colts .
"Washington is planning to start Colt McCoy over Robert Griffin III on Sunday at Indianapolis, per a team source. While Griffin is not a part of Washington’s plan for Sunday’s game, he still appears to be a significant part of the Redskins’ long-term plan, per another source."
It looks like Robert Griffin III is in Washington’s long term plans, but even that is being called into question. The high price the team paid to acquire the draft pick in which they selected Griffin III is being seen as something tying them to his success or failure. So far it has been nothing but failure as Griffin III hasn’t gone a single season yet where he wasn’t benched at one point or another.
