It’s rivalry week in college football and heated exchanges are being thrown all over, including this letter sent to Ole Miss signed by what seems to be a Mississippi State fan.

The Egg Bowl has been played over 100 times and this year is set to play in Oxford this Saturday. So as expected, some heated exchanges and harsh words may be thrown around. However, one fan seems to have gone a little to far with Ole Miss.

In an anonymous letter to Ole Miss, there is a claim that there will be some sort of damage on the infamous tailgating site, The Grove.

"“What’s going to happen to y’all on the field Saturday Aint nothing compared to what’s going to happen on your beautiful campus. You won’t be one of the most pretty campus’s Next year. A lot of shrubs and trees are going to die; especially in the grove. Can’t stop us.” (SIGNED) “Hail State go to hell TSUN [That School Up North]”"

Assuming the original author actually meant it when he or she said, “Hail State,” then they are probably a Mississippi State fan, but there is no real way of telling if it’s a joke or not. So, seeing as this is not something to take lightly, Ole Miss contacted the FBI office in Jackson.

"“This longtime football rivalry has separated families and friends for generations, but while it’s spirited, our attention has been focused mostly on the football field,” Sellers said. “We encourage everyone to remember that this is a game, after all, not a time for hate. We are hopeful that passions have not escalated to the point that someone is prepared to do damage to a landmark for which all Mississippians take great pride.”"

It’s no joke when you threaten to deface property of a campus over a football game, we’ve seen this come up other times, like in the Auburn-Alabama rivalry. Hopefully everyone, and everything on campus stays safe.
