ESPN College Football Challenge Picks For Week 14

For those of you that don’t know, ESPN College Football Challenge is the closest you can get to college fantasy football on ESPN. You get to comprise a roster of two quarterbacks, two running backs, two wide receivers, a team kicker, and a team defense. The scoring is very similar to NFL scoring.

Last week, I had another solid week. I can only wonder what would have been had I played Samaji Perine!

Here are my ESPN College Football Challenge Picks for Week 14:

Nov 22, 2014; Reno, NV, USA; Nevada Wolf Pack quarterback Cody Fajardo (17) runs onto the field prior to the start of their NCAA football game with Fresno State bulldogs at MacKay Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Lance Iversen-USA TODAY Sports

Quarterbacks:

Marquise Williams, North Carolina: North Carolina State’s defense has been abysmal all year long. Williams should carve them up like tomorrow’s turkey.

Cody Fajardo, Nevada: UNLV is dead last in the Mountain West in nearly every defensive category. Fajardo can run and throw well, which means that the Rebels will likely be unable to stop him from doing anything he wants.

Honorable mention: Bryce Petty at Texas Tech, J.T. Barrett at Michigan

Stay Away: Jameis Winston vs. Florida, Brett Hundley vs. Stanford

Running Backs:

Shock Linwood, Baylor: Texas Tech has been steamrolled by nearly every opponent on the ground this year. Petty will get his numbers, but I would bet more than Linwood sees a better fantasy day.

Honorable mention: Donnel Pumphrey vs. San Diego State, T.J. Yeldon vs. Auburn

Stay Away: Jay Ajayi vs. Utah State, Ameer Abdullah at Iowa

Wide Receivers:

Rashad Higgins, Colorado State: As long as he is on the field, I am playing him. Period.

Vince Mayle, Washington State: Luke Falk seems to have locked on to Mayle more than Conner Halliday did. That is good news for Mayle owners, and for those of us that would take Mayle if we knew where the ball was going. Now we do.

Honorable mention: Amari Cooper vs. Auburn, Justin Hardy at Tulsa

Stay Away: Nelson Spruce vs. Utah, Pharoh Cooper at Clemson

Kickers:

LSU, Oklahoma, and Mississippi State are my top three this week.

Defense:

Arkansas: They play at Missouri, who has been miserable at home. Watching how the Razorbacks have dominated LSU and Mississippi over the last two weeks, I would be very surprised if they didn’t do the same to Missouri.

Honorable mention: Memphis vs. Connecticut, Michigan State at Penn State

Stay Away: Auburn at Alabama, Texas vs. TCU
