Last week was another sub-par showing for me in the Pick Em. Penn State and Miami losing means that I lost a lot of big points on those games.

Rivalry games are always tough to pick, which means that this week will likely be very difficult. There are only two games that I am very comfortable with. Other than that, most of them are toss ups.
These games are ranked in order from most confident (10) to least (1) for those of you that play the confidence version of the game like I do.
10. Indiana over Purdue: The Boilermakers have no answer for Tevin Coleman. Add to that the fact that they have struggled all season against teams that run the ball well, and Indiana is the only sure thing of the weekend.

9. Georgia over Georgia Tech: The Bulldogs are going to have trouble with the triple option, but I don’t think the Yellow Jackets can stand up to the great backs that Georgia will keep pounding them with the whole game. This likely stays close, but I like Georgia to pull away a little late in the game.
8. Alabama over Auburn: Auburn’s defense is much worse than last year. Add that to the fact that Alabama’s offense has been nothing short of great at home, not to mention the Tide have revenge on their minds, and you get Alabama winning, and it may not be close.
7. Washington over Washington State: The Cougars proved that it doesn’t matter who they have at quarterback. They will still throw it 70 times a game. They also showed that their defense is one of the worst in the Pac 12. This adds up to a Washington win.
6. USC over Notre Dame: The Trojans flopped against UCLA, but the Irish have been dreadful the whole month of November. Injuries, kicking woes, and a turnover prone QB have torpedoed their season. I don’t think they have much of a chance in L.A.
5. Clemson over South Carolina: Clemson may struggle on offense, but their defense will give the Gamecocks fits. I have to go with the better defense.
4. Miami(FL) over Pittsburgh: Miami’s run defense will be tested in this one, but I ultimately think that Duke Johnson and Brad Kaaya are the best offensive tandem that Pitt has faced this year.
3. Mississippi State over Mississippi: This may be the most important Egg Bowl in history! It is definitely the most important one in nearly five decades. That means that we have to ignore how bad the Rebs looked in Fayetteville last weekend. Mississippi State is likely a lock for the playoff if they win this one, and they should be. Mississippi won’t make it easy though. I think it will come down to who makes the most mistakes, and after watching Ole Miss the last few games, I think it will be them.
2. California over BYU: BYU is still beat up on both sides of the ball. Cal is an improving team, especially on the defensive side of the ball. This one really is a toss up, but I am going with Cal at home.
1. Minnesota over Wisconsin: This will be an old school game with the teams beating the hell out of each other. Both of them are tough and physical. Paul Bunyan’s Axe is the only trophy that Minnesota is missing from their trophy case this year. I think they go and get it!
