Furman Player Misses Wide-Open Dunk vs Duke (Video)
By Sam Richmond
Furman guard Stephen Croone blew an easy dunk and two shots at the rim in what is one of the more embarrassing basketball sequences you’ll ever see.
Furman basketball players had the opportunity of a lifetime Wednesday, as they faced off against Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Unfortunately, Furman guard Stephen Croone likely won’t have fond memories from the game.
The 6’0″ junior came up short on an easy dunk attempt in the second half and, making matters worse, then proceeded to miss two more shots at the rim.
Ouch.
This is the perfect time for the “Good Job, Good Effort” kid.
Anybody that’s played basketball has had that sequence where nothing at all went right. Unfortunately for Croone, that sequence for him came when he was playing at Cameron Indoor in a game that aired on national television.
Hopefully, Croone can have a good sense of humor about the embarrassing gaffe because this one will get replayed for a while.
On the bright side, Croone finished the game as one of Furman’s top performers, scoring 12 points in the contest. Last season, Croone averaged 19.1 points (46.8 percent shooting from the field), 4.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.
Duke ultimately won 93-54, moving them to 6-0 on the season. Furman dropped to 1-3 with the loss.
