Marshawn Lynch doesn’t like to talk to the media, but the NFL sees it as part of his job to do so which means only saying one word answers won’t cut it with Roger Goodell.
A week ago, Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch was fined for not talking to the media despite being warned that ignoring reporters is against NFL policy. This week he talked to the media — sort of — by simply repeating the one word answer ‘yeah’ for the entire duration of speaking to the media.

The NFL has seen this as baby step progress but still isn’t all that pleased with Lynch’s treatment of the media. That’s why despite not receiving a fine from the league, there’s a good chance Lynch receives a warning stating that he’d best expand his vocabulary for Thursday night.
"Per a league source, Lynch hasn’t been fined for his latest shenanigans. It’s likely, however, that the league won’t tolerate that approach on a regular basis."
There are a few different opinions about whether or not Lynch should have to talk to the press as fans don’t think he should while the press very unsurprisingly does. He’s admitted to social anxiety issues in the past and he’s not the first NFL player to have dealt with this. Lest we forget Ricky Williams conducting interviews with his helmet on back in his days with the New Orleans Saints and other players have struggled with this as well.
Lynch needs to speak to the media, that’s in his contract with the NFL but the amount he speaks to the media shouldn’t be dictated by the league — even though they’ll try.
