10. St. Louis Rams, Austin Davis, Age 25

I know this one has to be a surprise. I bet your average NFL fan didn’t even know who this guy was before the season started. I know I didn’t. Well now you know. And get used to this guy at the helm for St. Louis because with the 2011 No.1 draft pick and former Heisman winning quarterback Sam Bradford constantly getting sidelined with injury after injury; Davis might be the future QB for this franchise.

I know you never thought the words ā€œFRANCHISE QUARTERBACKā€ would be associated with Austin Davis, but it looks like that’s what this is coming too. After going undrafted in the 2012 NFL Draft out of Southern Mississippi, he signed a free agent deal with the Rams. He was cut by the Rams in 2013 and later was signed to their practice squad that year. When Bradford went down due to injury, Davis stepped in and has really provided a boost to the Rams offense.

In nine starts this season, the right-handed Davis has thrown for 2,001 passing yards, 12 TD passes to 9 INTs, has completed 63.4 percent of his passes, and has a respectable quarterback rating of 85.1. Davis has played so well that after he led the Rams to a 28-26 upset at home over the defending champion Seahawks in Week 7, he sparked the all-time passing touchdown leader Brett Favre to say that Davis has a chance to be the ā€œNext Tom Brady or Kurt Warnerā€ if he’s giving the right opportunity. Though I’m not buying that statement, Austin Davis has sure made a name for himself so far.
