Ohio State University football coach Urban Meyer said he’ll punish any player who gets into a fight against a Michigan Wolverines player.
In the week leading up to Saturday’s annual Big Ten rivalry game between Ohio State University and the University of Michigan, OSU football coach Urban Meyer is making one thing abundantly clear to his players: Don’t fight, or else.

“I had a talk with our team about that, and absolutely no case for that,” Meyer said, per ESPN. “Intensity? Absolutely. There’s a certain mentality we need to take to this field, but that’s not acceptable.”
The Buckeyes really shouldn’t be looking for a fight as they’re heavy favorites against the struggling Wolverines, whose 5-6 record can hardly stand tall next to the 10-1 record OSU brings to their home game. The Buckeyes have already clinched a spot in the Big Ten Championship Game and any altercations on the field could lead to them being weakened for that ever-important tilt beyond this one.
“That’s not the way we play the game,” Meyer said, “and I think a lot of lessons were learned [last year]. We went without one of our key linemen in the [conference] championship game the following week, and we played a game without two or three good players. That was a very strong conversation in the team meeting.”
The teams play at 12 PM EST at Ohio Stadium on the Saturday after Thanksgiving in what promises to be a nasty game both on the field and in the stands regardless of where the teams sit in the Big Ten.
