Don’t expect any selfies from Tennessee Titans quarterback Zach Mettenberger this week in the buildup to his team’s game versus J.J. Watt and the Houston Texans on Sunday.
Mettenberger, who notably posted a selfie hours before these team two teams’ last matchup, told the Tennessean he’s currently in “selfie rehab.”
"“I was just addicted to it I guess. I put myself in a rehab program,” Mettenberger said. “And now that I’ve quit I feel like I am a much better person.”"
Watt took exception to Mettenberger’s last pre-game selfie, mocking the quarterback in a sack celebration and ripping him to the media after the game.
However, it appears all is well between the quarterback and defensive end at this point.
Watt complimented Mettenberger’s improvements as a quarterback on Wednesday.
"“I think he’s continuing to grow as he goes along. I think he gets a little bit better each game and I think he’s going to continue to go along that path,” Watt said. “He’s going to continue to improve. He’s got a strong arm. He’s a smart guy. He can do some different things. He’s going continue to get better, and I like the way that’s been playing.”"
Mettenberger has thrown for 1,103 yards and seven touchdowns in five games this season. Watt has 9.5 sacks and 51 tackles in 11 games.
