Calvin Johnson Surpasses 10,000 Career Receiving Yards
By Josh Sanchez
Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson had one heck of a second quarter, with two touchdowns to his credit as helped his team take a lead over the Chicago Bears.
Not only did Johnson surpass 100 yards in the first half, but he also went over 10,000 yards in his career.
It was just Calvin Johnson’s 115th game which made him the fastest player in NFL history to surpass the 10,000 career yard mark.
Calvin Johnson is now just one of 43 players in league history to have more than 10,000 career receiving yards.
Johnson, who is still young in his career, still has a very long way to go if he wants to come close to Jerry Rice’s record of 22,895 receiving yards. That isn’t to say it can’t be done, however, especially in this pass happy league.
The Lions carried their lead into the half and currently lead in the third quarter at Ford Field.
If Calvin Johnson is able to duplicate his first half performance of nine catches and 109 yards, it is safe to say the Lions will have a very good chance at coming away with the win.
