The Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers don’t like each other. So the hitting has a little extra pop Thursday night as they play at Levi’s Stadium. Just ask Chris Culliver.
The Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers are spending Thanksgiving together, whether they like it or not.
Given the acrimonious nature of their NFC West rivalry, one would have to lean heavily toward “or not.”
Chris Culliver of the 49ers, however, got a chance to welcome Seahawks receiver Jermaine Kearse to the new Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
As Keith Olbermann might say, “Helloooooo.”

This is the first meeting between the Seahawks and 49ers since last season’s NFC Championship, during which Seattle clinched a Super Bowl berth with a 23-17 victory over San Francisco.
But the Seahawks haven’t won on the road against the 49ers since 2008, before Pete Carroll or Jim Harbaugh were in their current coaching jobs.
In fact, it was a year before Harbaugh’s Stanford team trounced Carroll’s USC squad at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum 55-21, a game that featured Stanford going for a two-point conversion with his team up 48-21 in the fourth quarter.
So, yes, when you can spice up an NFL rivalry with coaches who already have a history of going after each other, things will get heated.
