The Dallas Cowboys are taking on the Philadelphia Eagles on Thanksgiving. Not only is it a rehashing of a bitter rivalry, the two teams are tied with 8-3 records and the top spot in the NFC East standings is on the line.
But the bitter rivalry makes this important game all the more interesting, especially remembering that Eagles running back LeSean McCoy said “I own Dallas” in a training camp interview with Michael Irvin.
Before their Thanksgiving day clash, Bryant commented on McCoy’s comments.
“Well, we’ll have to see about that tomorrow,” Bryant said. “We’ll see if he owns Dallas or not. I’m not really into going back and forth with anybody. I just stick to between these white lines.”
Bryant later added: “Jerry Jones owns Dallas.”
It is an interesting comment from McCoy, who hasn’t necessarily dominated Dallas over the days. The Eagles are 4-4 against the Cowboys with McCoy, who has three touchdowns while averaging 86.9 yards per game.
That is hardly indicative of a player dominating another opponent. Averaging 87 yards is particularly solid stat though, but I’d calm down with the “owning” talk.
