It’s been a wild year in college football, especially in the mighty SEC West where we weren’t completely sure all season who would end up the champion. Well after the events of Saturday, we now know that the Alabama Crimson Tide are the champions of the SEC West division and will be heading off to Atlanta next weekend to take on the Missouri Tigers, who clinched the East on Friday.
This is the first SEC West Championship for Alabama since the 2012 season, where they would go on to defeat the Georgia Bulldogs in Atlanta, followed up by a BCS National Championship Game win over Notre Dame.
Alabama finishes the regular season with an 11-1 record overall, with their only loss coming a few weeks ago to the Ole Miss Rebels on the road. Since then, Alabama has pretty much shown themselves to be maybe the most dominant team in the country once again, which is a scary thought for college football.
Next weekend in Atlanta, they will be facing off against Missouri for the first time since that 2012 season, where they routed the Tigers in Columbia, 42-10.
It could be a different story this time around, just with much bigger stakes on the line. Or, the Tigers could get the revenge they’ve been waiting for and ruin the College Football playoff hopes of Alabama.
Who do you think gets the win next weekend? Let us know in the comments below.
