Newborns have actually been born into the Ohio State-Michigan rivalry

God Bless America.

In honor of the Game — played this year on November 29, 2014 — the Ohio State Medical Center has swaddled what I can only imagine is row after row of newborns in ‘Beat Michigan’ swaddles. IT IS NOT THAT SERIOUS.

Ohio State is looking to uphold their spot as the reigning victors in this annual rivalry; although Michigan ultimately holds the rivalry record (58-45-6), Ohio State took home the win last November in a photo-finish 42-41 victory.

The matchup, which traditionally falls at the end of the two teams’ regular seasons (or, at least, it has since 1935), is kind of a big deal. According to ESPN, this is the biggest rivalry in North American sports — which kind of terrifies me, because people have been known to burn cities down over apparently less intense game outcomes.

Update: I thought this was like a one-time thing. Apparently, people do this kind of thing on the reg:

I hold the utmost respect for the entirety of both these fan bases. Although my freshman year roommate from college transferred to Michigan — so I don’t know how I feel about these babies.
