Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten was caught on camera shouting at Cowboys tight ends coach Mike Pope in Thursday’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

We already know Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant likes to shout at his position coach, but apparently so does tight end Jason Witten. The Fox cameras caught Witten yelling animatedly at coach Mike Pope, while the coach wasn’t saying a word. Witten offered an explanation to ESPN.

"“Oh, we were just talking about a play,” Witten said. “It wasn’t anything other than I get excited out there and talking about it. Nobody loves [Pope] more than [me] what he’s done for me, so there’s never any argument or friction between us. There’s just a lot of excitement and emotion and we’re talking through it.”"

Of course, what everyone might not know is that these types of confrontations and conversations take place on football sidelines all the time. Loud crowds, loud music and hyped players and personnel make shouting a pretty normal way to have a conversation on the sideline. Such confrontations seem to only get attention depending on who’s doing the confronting.

After losing badly to the Eagles on Thanksgiving, the Cowboys now sit at 8-4 and second in the NFC East. They take their playoff hopes on the road starting next week with games in Chicago and then a rematch with Philadelphia. Currently the Cowboys are out of Wildcard contention, just below the Detroit Lions with the seventh seed. They can still win the division with four more games left to play.
