Not many people expected Arizona and head coach Rich Rodriguez to walk out with the Pac-12 South championship on Friday. It was supposed to be all but a given that UCLA would take care of Stanford inside the Rose Bowl and would end up being the ones to face Oregon.
Well, as we’ve learned so many times throughout the years, nothing is a given in college football. Stanford routed UCLA, 31-10, thus giving Arizona the division title after their thrilling 42-35 win over Arizona State.
Immediately following the game, Rich Rodriguez was quick to send thanks the way of Stanford and head coach David Shaw for the help on Friday.
Actually, it was one of the first things that he mentioned at his presser.
"Coach Shaw and the Cardinal deserve a big shoutout for the help today."

That was very polite of Rich Rod, and also very necessary. Sometimes you need help in these races, and Arizona got just that on Friday.
Arizona will meet Oregon in the Pacw-12 Championship Game next Friday night at 8 p.m. ET.
