The college football conference championship game that people look forward to the most is now set. In the SEC Championship Game next weekend in Atlanta, it will be the Alabama Crimson Tide facing off against the Missouri Tigers.
Shaping this game all started on Friday with Missouri doing their part. The Tigers took care of their business at home against Arkansas, which clinched them their second consecutive SEC East title. Last season in the SEC Championship Game, Missouri lost a shootout to Auburn, 59-42. This year they will see if they can get some redemption against the Tigers’ biggest rival.
Alabama is making a return trip to the SEC title game, where they last were in 2012 when they defeated the Georgia Bulldogs in a tight contest. Just when it seemed earlier this year after the loss to Ole Miss that this might not be the best year for Alabama, they have been one of the more dominant teams in the country over the past few weeks, and would love to keep that going en route to an SEC title and a trip to the College Football Playoff.
The last meeting between these two teams took place in 2012, when Alabama traveled to Columbia and routed the Tigers, 42-10.
