Baylor QB Bryce Petty Knocked Out Of Game At Texas Tech

Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty was knocked out of the Bears’ game against Texas Tech Saturday with Baylor leading 35-17 in the third quarter.
Baylor and Texas Tech lived up to its billing as a rivalry game Saturday when Bears quarterback Bryce Petty was knocked out of the game in the third quarter on a shot by Red Raiders linebacker Sam Eguavoen in the third quarter.
The game is being played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Petty threw an incomplete pass but took a blow to the head from Eguavoen.
As of early in the fourth quarter, Petty had not returned. Eguavoen was flagged for a personal foul for helmet-to-helmet contact, but was not ejected for targeting.

Petty was 18-for-25 for 210 yards and two touchdowns at the point he left the game. Backup Seth Russell came in and completed a seven-play, 70-yard touchdown drive with a 27-yard pass to Levi Norwood for the score.
Russell later directed a five-play, 57-yard drive that ended with Chris Callahan’s 38-yard field goal with 2:18 left in the third quarter that put Baylor up 45-20.
But midway through the fourth quarter, Texas Tech had rallied back to within 11 at 45-34. Baylor (9-1) came into the game ranked No. 7 in the College Football Playoff rankings and in a three-way tie with TCU and Kansas State for the lead in the Big 12 Conference.
