The legend of Clemson freshman quarterback Deshaun Watson is growing after he played in the win against rival South Carolina with a torn ACL he suffered two days earlier in practice

Deshaun Watson was back in the starting lineup for Clemson after the freshman quarterback injured his LCL and had a bone bruins in the loss to Georgia Tech two weeks ago.

However, he had another injury he suffered two days earlier in practice that normally would have kept even the toughest of players out of action for a considerable amount of time as Watson played against South Carolina with a torn ACL.

Incredible amount of toughness to gut his way through this game and not only did he play, but the freshman played well in leading the Tigers to their first win over their rival in six tries, snapping their five-game losing streak in the Palmetto Bowl.

Watson finished with 269 yards and two touchdowns on 14-of-19 passing and added two rushing touchdowns all while having a torn ACL in his knee.

Makes you wonder how he was able to talk his way onto the field in the first place and if Dabo Swinney had any reservations about keeping him out of the game and starting Cole Stoudt, but perhaps the doctors told him Watson can’t further damage the knee by playing?

In any event, this is remarkable that Watson was not only able to play but play well in leading his team to a win in a rivalry game that they had to have.

He was the best freshman quarterback in college this year and if this guy can avoid injuries that plagued him in his rookie year, the sky is the limit for him, even if his offensive coordinator Chad Morris is taking the head coaching job at SMU.
