Minnesota Gophers vs. Wisconsin Badgers
The Minnesota Gophers, ranked No. 18 in the country, are looking to make their way to the Big Ten championship game, and a win against 14th ranked Wisconsin on Saturday will help them get there. Wisconsin and Minnesota have one of the best rivalries in college football but the bottom line is that for the first time in a long time this game is as much about the Gophers as it is about the Badgers.

Keys to Victory
This is essentially a playoff game, as the winner of this matchup is going to face Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship Game on December 6th. Neither the Gophers or the Badgers are in a position to make the college football postseason, but both are trying to get as high as they can in their quest for greatness and clinching a spot in the conference title game will go along way in getting someone a better bowl game.
Wisconsin has Melvin Gordon to throw at the Gophers, as Minnesota has not seen a runner like him all season long. The Gophers defense got soft at times against Ohio State, and we’ve all seen what Gordon can do against even some of the best defenses in the country. The key to stopping the Badgers for Minnesota will be stopping Gordon.
Similarly, the Badgers key to victory is making sure Gordon can be their workhorse the whole game, as he’s been unstoppable in the past and Wisconsin needs him now more than ever.
Betting Odds
Point Spread: Badgers (-14)
Moneyline: WIS: -600, MIN: +475
O/U: 50.0
Prediction
It’s going to be a good game no matter what, and that’s what Big Ten fans have wanted for a long time. For once both the Gophers and Badgers seem to be on even playing fields which is great for everyone. Minnesota has what it takes to pull off the upset but they’re walking a delicate line that will require minimal mistakes as the Badgers know they can win and won’t let up at all.
