Gerod Holliman must have an attraction to the football because he’s racking up interceptions as a record pace for Louisville this year. Holliman had his 14th interception of the season against Kentucky as he picked off Patrick Towles as the Wildcats attempted to comeback in the final minute against the Cardinals.
But Holliman had other ideas in mind as he picked off the pass form Towles at the 31-yard line and returned it 65 yards to the Kentucky two-yard line as he nearly made the record-tying interception a touchdown as well.

Nevertheless, the interception clinched the win for Louisville as they continue to exert their dominance over the Wildcats and picked up the 44-40 win.
Holliman tied the mark held by Washington’s Al Worley set in 1968.
With a bowl game awaiting Louisville it will be interesting to see if Holliman can break the record and hold the record by his lonesome.
14 interceptions is unheard of at any level. I can’t even get that many interceptions when I’m playing video games, so this is just a remarkable achievement for Holliman who has been as dominant as any defender in the nation this year and a slam dunk choice to be an All-American and perhaps win some individual awards at the end of the year.
