On his first pass attempt of the second half against the Tigers, Sims threw his third pick of the game.
The interception by Jonathan Jones gave Auburn the ball at the Alabama 39-yard line just 50 seconds into the second half.
Already leading 26-21, Auburn needed seven plays before Nick Marshall found Quan Bray over the middle for a 5-yard touchdown and a 33-21 lead.
It was Marshall’s third touchdown pass of the game.
The Tigers have scored on all three of Sims’ interceptions Saturday, putting 17 points on the board off the turnovers.
Jermaine Whitehead and Johnathan Ford had the first two picks for Auburn.
Sims had not thrown more than one interception in any game this season. He threw one in the season-opening win over West Virginia at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta and had one pick in a 42-21 win over Florida on Sept. 20 and a 23-17 loss at Ole Miss on Oct. 4.
Sims didn’t throw his next interception until last week, when he tossed one against Western Carolina.
