Cody Kessler threw six touchdowns as the USC Trojans destroyed the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 49-14 on Saturday.
USC handed Notre Dame its fourth consecutive loss on Saturday, dismantling the Trojans 49-14 at the Coliseum.

USC got off to a quick start in the contest. With 6:50 remaining in the opening quarter, quarterback Cody Kessler struck first with a 48-yard touchdown pass to George Farmer.
Kessler and the Trojans weren’t done in the first, though. The junior quarterback threw two more touchdowns (16 yards to Adoree’ Jackson, 31 yards to Farmer) that put USC up 21-0 heading into the second frame.
Early in the second, Kessler connected with Darreus Rogers on a 6-yard score that made it 28-0. He then found Nelson Agholor for a 14-yard score with 5:15 left in the quarter, making the game even more out of hand.
Notre Dame was able to cut the halftime deficit to 35-7 on a Malik Zaire 11-yard rush with 4:11 remaining in the second.
Kessler’s sixth and final touchdown of the day came 3:41 into the second half on a 9-yard pass to Randall Telfer. USC extended its lead later in the quarter on a Justin Davis 16-yard rush.
The Fighting Irish posted the game’s final score with 2:48 left in the third on a Greg Bryant 1-yard rush.
Kessler ended the day with 372 passing yards and six touchdowns. Javorius Allen was USC’s top rusher with 93 yards and Agholor the team’s top pass-catcher with 120 yards and a score.
On the other side, Irish quarterback Everett Golson struggled mightily, throwing for 75 yards and an interception. Bryant rushed for 79 yards and a score and William Fuller posted 75 receiving yards.
The Trojans finish the regular season with an 8-4 record. Notre Dame, after starting out 6-0, finishes at 7-5.
