J.T. Barrett has been one of the best stories of this college football season as he filled in admirably for the injured Braxton Miller and had the Buckeyes in position to challenge for a College Football Playoff berth. However, there is no happy ending for the redshirt freshman who was carted off during the fourth quarter of Ohio State’s rivalry game against Michigan with what appeared to be a right leg injury.

Barrett broke the Ohio State single-season record for touchdowns last week and earlier in the game broke the Big Ten record for touchdowns accounted for and was likely headed to New York as part of the Heisman ceremony, but now that is in question as is the Buckeyes place in thr eyes of the College Football Playoff committee who will have to evaluate whether Ohio State is one of the four best teams in the country without their freshman phenom at quarterback.

Ohio State will play the winner of the WisconsinMinnesota game in the Big Ten Championship Game and will have to rely on Cardale Jones at quarterback with Barrett out with what looked like a devastating ankle injury.
