As if the loss wasn’t frustrating enough for the Ottawa Senators, things have just gotten a whole lot worse.

It’s not exactly the news Ottawa Senators’ fans want to hear after losing a disappointing game against their division rival Florida Panthers.  Ottawa is trying to stay afloat in what’s looking like a very tough Atlantic Division, and it looks like they will have to do so without one of their best offensive players.  For just how long, however, remains the question.

Ryan suffered the injury after he was slashed in the hand by a Panthers player.  He’s seen taking his gloves off and showing his teammates on the bench his finger.

The injury to Ryan comes at a very unfortunate time for the Senators, who are currently fighting through a 3-5-2 stretch.  Ryan has five goals and eight assists through 21 games so far this season.

Ottawa will be in action next on Saturday when they go down to Tampa Bay to face-off against Steven Stamkos and the Lightning.
