The Kentucky Wildcats and Louisville Cardinals have always been bitter rivals, but you generally only get that feel when the two are on the basketball court with one another. However, with the rise of the Kentucky program under Mark Stoops, football might get more interesting as well.
Oh, and so far, we are seeing that on Saturday so far.
In the first quarter the Wildcats jumped out to an early 6-0 lead, putting a scare into the Cardinals. In the second quarter, they frightened them a little more.
Watch in the video below as Stanley Williams takes one in from 11 yards out to give the Wildcats the 13-0 lead.
Yeah, things with this rivalry are going to be getting a lot more interesting now that Kentucky is getting better on the football field.
But as we know, this Louisville offense can strike at any moment, and they probably will.
For Kentucky, though, this is a fantastic start and is more than beneficial for them to get out ahead early, in case the Cardinals do make a run on offense.
