The football world was saddened recently to hear the news that Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry had been stricken with Lymphoma, and his alma mater, the Tennessee Volunteers will be showing their support on Saturday.
This weekend the Volunteers will be taking on the Vanderbilt Commodores in their annual rivalry game, and when they take the field on Saturday, they’ll be wearing amazing helmet decals to show their love toward one of the best defensive backs to ever play in the SEC.
This is an amazing touch and quite the classy move by the Volunteers.
The Chiefs announced last week that Berry had been out on the non-football injury list and would be out indefinitely as he battles this unfortunate disease.
Berry was indeed one of the best defensive backs to every play not only in the SEC, but in college football. He played for Tennessee from 2007 to 09, and he was a Consensus All-American the final two years of his collegiate playing days for the Vols. He finished his career in Knoxville with 245 tackles, three sacks from the secondary and 14 interceptions.
