Sixty-seven wins in seven years just wasn’t enough for The Nebraska Cornhuskers as it was announced early Sunday morning on Twitter that coach Bo Pelini will not be returning to Lincoln.
It was announced via the official Nebraska Twitter account this morning that Director of Athletics Shawn Eichorst has dismissed coach Bo Pelini immediately. A press conference will be held on Sunday afternoon.
Then, some tweets that were signed by Eichorst were sent out, expressing gratitude for Pelini and what he has done.

"Coach Pelini served our University admirably for seven years and led our football program’s transition to the Big Ten Conference. We wish Coach Pelini and his wonderful family all the best and thank him for his dedicated service to the University. – Eichorst"
Bo Pelini has been the head coach of the team for seven years since 2008, going 67-27 through that period of time and 22-10 in the Big 10. However, this firing could be less about his record and reputation as a winning coach and more about how he has been seen off the field, seeing as the team did just win yesterday against Iowa. Pelini has had incidents ranging from his comments in 2011 and the way he yelled at quarterback Taylor Martinez.
Regardless, if it was about record he still did not get Nebraska to a big time bowl game, getting the team to the Alamo bowl once and Gator, Holiday and Capital One bowl two times each.
Pelini was hired in December of 2007 and the reaction from some of his players is disheartening.
