The Pittsburgh Steelers lost to the New Orleans Saints at home on Sunday, however that may not have been their biggest loss of the day. Defensive end Brett Keisel left the game with an arm injury, and at the time it was feared that he had torn his tricep.
Well, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Steelers do in fact believe that Keisel did suffer a torn tricep, which would immediately bring his season to a close.
The #Steelers believe DE Brett Keisel tore his tricep, ending his season, source said. He’ll have an MRI to confirm.

Now of course there is the small chance that the MRI could come back with some good news, but if team doctors believe that’s the injury that he suffered, then the chances are good that we have seen the last of Keisel this season. To make matters worse, with this type of injury, this could maybe end the career of one of the best defensive players of this generation.
For a time in the preseason, it seemed as if Keisel might not even be stepping on the field at all this season, but the two sides came to terms on a one-year deal.
