Ryan Tannehill is quietly having a good fantasy season. He isn’t one of the top QBs in the league, but he doesn’t have bad games either. Tannehill is a very good QB to draft in the later rounds of your fantasy drafts, because he is consistent and doesn’t lose you games.
Tannehill has been very efficient this year, throwing 20 TDs to 8 INTs. Currently Tannehill is ranked 16th among quarterbacks in fantasy, but he is developing and he has a nice schedule for the end of the year facing the Jets, Ravens, Patriots, Vikings, and the Jets again. He’s going to produce during all of those games for you.
Tannehill is consistent. He throws for 210-275 yards every game a long with touchdown or two. He doesn’t throw many interceptions, so he’s not going to kill you with mistakes. He will get you anywhere from one to five fantasy points from rushing. He is very mobile and he is not afraid to run with it if he’s pressured.
Whether you play the match ups at QB, or you just don’t like your QB’s, then Tannehill is a great option for you. He’s owned in 67% of ESPN leagues, so there’s a good chance you can obtain him off the waiver wire. I own him in a few leagues and I’m happy with the results. He’s not going to give you a 40 point fantasy week, but he’s not going to give you a 5 point fantasy game either, which is very valuable. I feel safe starting Tannehill in my lineups.
Even if you have a good QB this year, it is wise to take note of Tannehill’s progression because you may want to draft him in next year’s draft. I like drafting my quarterbacks late, and Tannehill will be a great late round QB next year.
Tannehill is a great QB for dynasty leagues. He can be acquired on the cheap, and he’s young at 26 years old. Tannehill is only going to get better, because the Dolphins are building around him. I doubt he will end up being the next Aaron Rodgers, but he’s going to be a very serviceable long term option.
Tannehill is a great match up play on a weekly basis. If you’re hurting at QB currently, add him to your roster and play him when your confident with his match up.
