There is a growing belief that Jim Harbaugh will not return as the San Francisco 49ers head coach next season and his replacement may already be with the team.
It would surprise no one if the San Francisco 49ers and head coach Jim Harbaugh parted ways at the end of the season.

In fact, many seem to believe thre is no chance that Harbaugh returns.
Should Harbaugh end up on the outs in San Francisco, reports indicate the replacement could already be on the San Francisco 49ers’ coaching staff.
According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, 49ers defensive line coach Jim Tomsula and defensive coordinator Vic Fangio are considered the favorites to replace Jim Harbaugh if he leaves. Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase, who was a hot coaching candidate last offseason, could also be in the mix.
Tomsula previously served as the 49ers’ interim head coach when Mike Singletary was fired during the season.
Both Tomsula and Fangio could also get looks from other teams around the league that will have vacancies when the offseason rolls around, so it will be interesting to see how quickly the 49ers move with their head coaching decision.
Only time will tell.
