Baylor is hoping a PR firm will improve its chances of reaching the College Football Playoff.
Baylor is in the midst of the fight of its life for the final spot in the College Football Playoff. The Bears are currently the No.5 team in the nation and if they beat Kansas State this Sunday, they’ll have a strong case for reaching college football’s final four.
However, Baylor doesn’t want to take any chances of getting left out. The school has hired a PR firm to push for its place in the playoff, according to Jake Trotter of ESPN.

It’s certainly an interesting move for Baylor. Would the committee really be swayed by public relations? I’d guess not.

The fact of the matter is that Baylor will likely go to the playoff if they beat Kansas State and obviously have no shot at making it if they lose. No PR firm is going to change those truths.
Baylor’s biggest competition for a playoff spot is No. 4 TCU. Both teams are 10-1, with Baylor handing TCU it’s only loss.
Baylor athletic director Ian McCaw told ESPN that the Bears’ win over the Horned Frogs is proof they are the more deserving team of a playoff berth.
"“The whole concept of a playoff is determining a champion on the field,” McCaw said. “If it’s on the merits of what was done on the field you would think if there’s already been a game it should weigh heavily.”"
TCU will play Iowa State this weekend.
