Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger injured his hand in Sunday’s loss to the New Orleans Saints, but he expects the hand to heal up by next week.
During Sunday’s Week 13 loss to the New Orleans Saints, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was shaken up when he hit his throwing hand on the wrist of Saints linebacker Curtis Lofton.

After hitting his hand and wincing in pain, Roethlisberger spent the next few plays handing the ball off with his left hand.
Ben Roethlisberger continued to shake out his hand throughout the game, but he does not seem to believe the hand injury will be a concern moving forward as the team prepares to face the Cincinnati Bengals next week.
When speaking with the media following the game, Roethlisberger said his throwing was not affected by the game and that there is no reason to worry.
“I am sure every quarterback has that happen every game,” Roethlisberger said, via Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “Does it hurt? Yeah. Did it affect my throwing? No.”
There is no word on whether the Steelers will conduct further tests on Ben Roethlisberger’s right hand on Monday. It will all depend on how the hand feels when he wakes up in the morning.
However, if his postgame interaction with Saints quarterback Drew Brees is indication, Roethlisberger’s hand is doing well enough for a firm handshake so perhaps he is right in saying there is no reason to worry.
