3. Building Toward The Future

The Cleveland Browns would be improving on the field right now if they began starting Johnny Manziel and he played up to his potential, but they would also begin building toward a very bright future. Getting Manziel on the field as much as they can in his rookie season would be very good for his development, and it’s something that the Browns should definitely consider.

While he may not end up being the “superstar” that some expect him to be, he has the ability and talent to become an above average starter. If the Browns are serious about building towards their future and becoming a playoff contender each and every season, then Manziel is their man. Brian Hoyer is a game manager, at times, but he isn’t the type of quarterback that a team can consistently win with at the helm.

Manziel could immediately come in and help take the Browns’ offense to new height, or he might come in and struggle for a few weeks. No matter what he does, he’ll be able to give the team just as good of a chance to win as Hoyer has over the past few weeks. He showed that he is ready to be given a chance, and he deserves to get that chance.
