Before kickoff at the Edward Jones Dome between the St. Louis Rams and Oakland Raiders on Sunday afternoon, Rams wide receivers Kenny Britt, Stedman Bailey, Chris Givens, Tavon Austin and tight end Jared Cook walked onto the field with their hands up.

The gesture showed solidarity and support of the Ferguson, Missouri community which has seen plenty of unrest since teenager Mike Brown was shot and killed by a police officer over the summer.

The Rams’ support of Ferguson did not end there.

After the game, Rams wide receiver Kenny Britt posted a photo on social media that showed his wrist tape that he wore for the game. The tape on Kenny Britt’s right wrist read “Mike Brown” and his left wrist read “My Kids Matter.”

Britt said that the game was dedicated to Mike Brown, his family and the Ferguson community.

This isn’t the first time that the Rams and members of their organization has offered their support to the Ferguson community.

Earlier this summer, when protests were being staged, the team offered free tickets to high school football players from schools in the Ferguson area.

This is another example of why we love sports. It is always great to see franchises and athletes using their platforms to give support to those who need it the most.
