Marcus Vick, the brother of New York Jets backup-turned-starter-turned-back-to-backup Michael Vick, is not impressed with the team’s offensive line.
Marcus Vick, the younger brother of once-again backup quarterback Michael Vick of the New York Jets, is not enamored of the team’s offensive line.
Jets need a damn O line. It's tough to evaluate a player when someone always in your passing lane. Give the QB a good pocket once time
— Marcus Vick (@MVFive) December 2, 2014
Going into Monday’s game against the Miami Dolphins, the Jets have allowed 36 sacks, which is currently 27th in the NFL and could fall as low as 31st depending on how Monday goes.

Pro Football Focus, however, rates the Jets’ pass blockers ninth in the NFL—granted it’s with a negative grade—but PFF only has seven teams ranked with positive grades in the entire league (tough room, to be sure).
So there has been at least “once time” that the Jets have provided a good pocket for their quarterback, whoever it may be.
But PFF ranks the Jets passing game as the NFL’s worst. Their cumulative 67.4 passer rating is the lowest in the league (yes, even worse than the Raiders) as their quarterbacks have combined to throw 12 interceptions and just 10 touchdown passes.
Gang Green’s 173.7 passing yards per game is 32nd in the NFL, as well.
And sorry, Marcus, but that can’t all be on the offensive line.
But the struggles have been equal opportunity. Michael Vick’s passer rating is 68.3, Geno Smith’s is 67.4 and third-stringer Matt Simms—who threw eight passes in their loss at Kansas City on Nov. 2—has a rating of 53.6.
