The St. Louis Rams embarassed the Oakland Raiders on Sunday, 52-0, but Rodger Saffold was hoping for an even greater margin of victory.

Week 13 was not kind to the Oakland Raiders, but it was a great day for St. Louis Rams offensive tackle Rodger Saffold.

More from Las Vegas Raiders

During the offseason, Saffold agreed to a five-year, $42.5-million contract with the Raiders. He was a member of the team for a short while, but then the Raiders managed to get out of the deal after discovering Saffold would need shoulder surgery.

As a result, Saffold returned to the Rams but he was forced to settle for $11 million less than he would have received in Oakland.

The sting of that loss was still with Roger Saffold entering Sunday’s game at the Edward Jones Dome, so he was thrilled to watch his current team wipe the floor with the team who he was briefly a member of, 52-0.

“It was everything you’d want out of the type of situation that I was in,” Saffold said, via CSNBayArea.com. “So I was real excited to go out here and get this ‘W.’ I had no idea it was going to be like this. But defense played great, offense played great.

Despite the big win, Saffold was hoping for more.

“I wish we would’ve got 76 points on the board, but that’s OK,” Saffold added.

With the way that the Raiders-Saffold situation played out during free agency, it is perfectly understandle for the offensive tackle to be pleased with the blowout win. It’s just a shame he couldn’t have had even more joy, because $11 million is a lot to lose.
