Sacramento Kings guard Ben McLemore is the latest athlete to show his support for the family of Mike Brown and the Ferguson, Missouri community.

On Sunday night, Sacramento Kings guard Ben McLemore, who is a native of St. Louis, honored Ferguson, Missouri’s Mike Brown with a message on his sneakers that he wore on the court.

Photos of the tribute — which read “RIP Mike Brown” — went viral on social media.

Ben McLemore was one of many athletes with ties to the St. Louis/Ferguson area who honored Mike Brown, who was shot and killed by a police officer this summer, on Sunday.

St. Louis Rams wide receiver Kenny Britt wrote a message on his wrist wraps, along with coming out onto the field with the “hands up, don’t shoot” sign that has become a rallying cry of protestors in the community.

It is always great to see athletes use their platform to show support for those who could use the positive vibes that lift their spirits.

The solidarity and support from athletes has to mean a lot to the community.
