Syracuse has lost out on a 3-star recruit because they did not answer his phone calls.
College football players decommit from schools all time. However, they don’t often decommit because a coaching staff is ignoring their phone calls.

Well, that’s the exact reason 3-star recruit West Lindor won’t be playing at Syrcause.
The Missouri native, who originally committed in July, decommited on Monday and told his story to Syracuse.com:
"Lindor said he hasn’t heard from Syracuse since September and has reached out to his primary recruiter, Orange running backs coach DeAndre Smith, and positional contact, tight ends coach Bobby Acosta, multiple times with no response.“I messaged them multiple times and they ignored me,” Lindor said. “Wish I could’ve balled out with Syracuse, but I need to do what’s best for me.”"
According to SB Nation’s John Cassillo, this isn’t the first time such a phone problem has occurred.
@MarkEnnis Second time we've heard this from a recruit in the last month. SU may be approaching "tire fire' status...

This reflects absolutely terribly on Scott Shafer and his coaching staff.
Syracuse isn’t exactly a premier football program that can get any recruit they want. The Orange should be doing everything they can to hold on to the recruits they can get. The fact that they aren’t giving their commits the proper attention is absurd.
Hopefully Windor ends up at a school that truly appreciates his services.
