Todd Gurley tore up his ACL the other week and hurt his NFL Draft stock, but head coach Mark Richt says that’s not stopping Gurley from entering the NFL Draft this season.
When Todd Gurley tore his ACL this season after returning from an NCAA suspension, it was one of the most unfortunate things to have happened all season long. Gurley was the best player in college football by far when he was suspended over an autograph scandal and was looking like the first running back to be a first round prospect since Eddie Lacy was drafted in 2013.

That’s why his ACL injury upon returning to the starting lineup was such a devastating blow to his NFL dream, but it was hardly a fatal one. Gurney could return to Georgia next season to try and earn back that high first round draft grade but he will instead jump straight to the NFL.
It’s a risky move, but it’s one that may end up being the right one. Georgia head coach Mark Richt confirmed that Gurley will be headed to the NFL Draft on his radio show this week.

Furthermore, Richt still believes that his running back is going to be a high draft pick despite the ACL injury he suffered at the end of the Bulldogs season.
